Mark Day and Matt Ward are DAYWARD. Emanating from Bristol - England, DAYWARD Has been going since early 2006. They set out to create music for people to dance to on a Friday night and ended up crafting an eclectic melting pot of vocal and instrumental tunes, fusing influences from leftfield Drum n bass, Hip Hop, electro pop and indie rock. Guest collaborations are featured with local artists and musicians such as Liz Kearton, Hannah Porter, Will Phipps, Estelle Bartley, Lady Raz, and the band THUMB TACK. All these artists drift in and out on a flexible revolving door policy hence the foundation of a musical 'Dayward' as opposed to medical. DAYWARD was signed to local Bristol label USURP RECORDS in February 2008.

DAYWARD have been gigging in Bristol and Bath during 2008. Wearing their white labcoats, they welcome anyone to join them pre gig for a special DAYWARD 'Open Music Surgery' in which you sit down and we ask you some probing questions about how you feel in order to diagnose and prescribe a unique drug for you - a DAYWARD tune, to take home! For the 'Ice Cream' Video, Matt hijacked a Facebook arranged zombie march going through the centre of Bristol at Halloween 2008.

Pre-DAYWARD
In Brief, Moochild had been performing solo gigs in Bristol since July 2004 as 'THE BOOTS'. Signed on Japanese label Sunday Tuning, THE BOOTS toured Japan in 2005 and 2007, playing dates to audiences in Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya, Nagano Matsumoto and Okayama. THE BOOTS released a single and debut album 'Flavour of the month' in early 2008 on Sunday Tuning.

Mark Day’s usual discipline is as a Drum n Bass producer. After DJing for years, he co-created the band RINGLEADER and got signed to Intercom records in 2003 (with the EZ Rollers). The first tune 'Enough is enough' was played 14 times by Zane Lowe making it 'Tune of the week'. After the band split up Mark worked on various projects, one was being THE BOOTS guitarist for the 2007 Japanese tour and the other was the birth and rise of DAYWARD from 2006-2009.
